While the bulk of our time is spent capturing our specialty, architectural photography, we love when we get the opportunity to photograph in other spaces we have expertise in. This time, it was working with our friends at Ardagh Products. Ardagh is a unique client that produces distinctive and innovative glass packaging in all shapes and sizes for the world’s leading brands. Think wine, spirit and beer bottles, as well as multiple jar types for food manufacturing. They offer your choice of almost 20 different color and work in 62 facilities throughout 16 countries. SO impressive!
Our amazing and trusted editor/re-toucher, Suzie, referred Ardagh to us and we couldn’t have been more excited to shoot their beautiful glassware. Excited, yes, but also extremely aware of the difficulty associated with capturing glassware. We are always up for a good challenge! Lesle first started learning how to capture glass when she was young, as her parents also knew the difficulty it comes with and wanted her to be an expert as she grew her knowledge and book of business later in life. Lesle shot the products in her personal studio, which provided a benefit of being in a familiar space. Shooting delicate, light reflecting, even translucent items like this requires adding and subtracting light, using strobes, and hanging the right foam or sheet pieces to help reflect any additional or unwanted light. This work requires a huge amount of patience, which we can each always be improving, so it often brings us back to a moment of humbling ourselves. We are always learning, no matter how much experience we have.
Luckily, Suzi was able to iron out anything that couldn’t be accomplished in the studio during the editing process. All of our projects are a collaborative of multiple team members and great clients. This project was no different!
Huge thanks to all for another successful shoot!
