As a third generation photographer, you can easily say Lesle has been learning and honing her craft since she was a young child. To know what you desire for your career from the time you are very young is incredibly inspiring and a dream for many. While Lesle has been living her dream for 30+ years, she just recently hit the peak of career excitement and fulfilled an ultimate dream when she had the opportunity to work with two clients capturing Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana.

This is one of those projects that you don’t hesitate even for a second when committing. Are we available? You better believe it! Our long term friends at BSA Lifestructures were the ones to make the dream a reality, along with new to us client Mackey Mitchell. Studio 13 has had the opportunity to work with BSA for many years, a Indianapolis based company that covers every detail in the planning process from architecture, engineering and interior design. We love their attention to both big and small moving parts in a project because we work the same way-no box unchecked and no mark missed!

We were so pleased to meet the Mackey Mitchell team through this venture to find even more partners with a passion for their work and and inpressive architecture portfolio, including many other university campuses across the country. Shooting Notre Dame architecture and working with two award winning companies? It just keeps getting better!

For this project, we had the chance to highlight a number of our services at once, capturing still photography, drone and video footage of the new ND residence hall and chapel.  This meant it was all hands on deck, with Lesle as the lead photographer, two photography assistants and our videographer. We were tasked with the big challenge, albeit a fun and exciting one, to capture all of our footage at both sunrise and dusk. Shooting at these specific times allowed us to truly showcase the beauty, drama and unique architecture of the buildings and spaces. With our large team working at the same time, communication was of the utmost importance, checking in to ensure we didn’t get in the way of the others work while still being as efficient and meticulous as possible.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the end result of this incredible project. The experience was a professional bucket list item crossed off for our team members. Thank you to all involved who made this vision come to life!
