If you’ve been around Studio 13’s social media, you’ve almost certainly heard about our previous projects with American StructurePoint. This time, our long-time client asked us to capture their recent project in West Lafayette, Indiana, at the charming senior living community Westminster Village. Located just two miles from Purdue University, Westminster Village offers independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitative services, and long-term care for seniors who desire a home with care and community.
We were tasked with photographing a number of new construction and renovation projects within the Westminster Village buildings. With the scope of what the client was looking for, this project had to be completed over the course of 2 days. Our shoot was divided into various segments of the larger building, and while some areas were empty, others had lots of foot traffic between the staff and residents who were there. We always had to be mindful of the space while getting what we needed, and Lesle made an effort to keep things as unobtrusive as possible.
The shot list was pretty comprehensive, and for some shots we ended up using every single photography light we have! Even with all we could do in “real life,” some angles needed some editing to get the image just right: the space had so many different types of lighting that it caused a bit of “color confusion” that had to be corrected in Photoshop. This is the kind of job Lesle loves! She finds joy in the challenge, pressure, and intensity of a new project, and there’s a sense of pride when this kind of high-end project results in beautiful, portfolio-ready images.
