Being part of innovation is always exciting, and we enjoyed the opportunity to capture American Structurepoint’s latest project! The 16 Tech Innovation District is a 50-acre community dedicated to fostering world-changing innovation and economic opportunity. The downtown Indy campus
overlooks The Canal and is full of some of Indiana’s well-known healthcare facilities, academic institutions, and innovative companies such as Eli Lilly, Cook Medical, and Roche (just to name a few). 16 Tech has a goal of bringing together entrepreneurs, academics, startups, corporations, and community members in a single place dedicated to collaboration and creative problem-solving.
American Structurepoint was the infrastructure engineer for the project, and brought us on to photograph a parking structure they built for 16 Tech. We completed this job over 3 different visits in order to capture the garage at different times of day: once during the daytime, once at dusk, and finally at nighttime. One of the best features of the garage is the one that prevents losing your vehicle: each floor is color-coded so it’s easier to remember where you parked! The elevator lobbies of each floor reflect these colors, and the coding can be seen at night as well as during the day.
Interior shots of the garage and elevator lobbies were critical, but we made sure to capture some rooftop views to really sell the scene, showing off that beautiful Indianapolis skyline. We also got some detailed shots showing off each individual floor, highlighting the various security features installed for the safety of the employees at those companies. All in all, a great project with great people!
