We are always so appreciative when long-time friends refer us to their place of business. That is what happened when Bob Gray, project developer for Aspen Group, connected us with his marketing department out of Chicago. Aspen Group is a ministry-focused design, build, and furnish firm providing integrated solutions for new church facilities, additions, and renovations primarily in the Midwest and Southeast. Aspen promotes a philosophy of careful work and stewardship of resources, providing a trustworthy team backed up by proven success with church building projects.
Aspen contracted us to photograph three facilities in three different towns for this project, and the individual sites could not have been more different from each other! Our travels took us between Indiana and Ohio and supplied many beautiful sights. The first shoot took place at Brookville Road Community Church of New Palestine, Indiana, who had just received a massive expansion to their already modern building. Next, we traveled near the Miami of Ohio campus for a photography session of a smaller expansion to the Oxford Bible Fellowship, built on a plot of land bordered by university-owned land. Finally, we found ourselves in Greensburg, Indiana, where we photographed a renovation of the First Baptist Church, a beautiful and historic building near downtown.
The intrigue of this project came from the complicated nature of the design elements we sought to capture. Each of these fabulous locations presented a challenging goal of not only highlighting the complexity of the design, but also demonstrating the relationship between the new and old construction. Newer design elements correlated with the previously existing structures, and it was crucial to show off how thoughtful Aspen had been as they worked with each location. Having one of the architects on hand for each shoot was essential to helping us paint the complete picture for Aspen’s audience.
We eagerly look forward to working with Aspen again in the future!
